Report on Cinema2020

How can exhibition and distribution collaborate and how do we attract the eyeballs of Generation Z? These are just a few of the questions discussed during Cinema2020: A Conference on the Future of Cinema.

Cinema2020 took place on March 23 and 24 in the EYE Filmmuseum in Amsterdam, giving the floor to 17 speakers and uniting 280 participants. The overarching goal of the conference was to present an overview of the recent trends, issues and opportunities of digital cinema, allowing participants to discover and discuss new developments in digital exhibition, distribution and film production. Discussion and audience interaction was enabled with the support of Sendsteps. By the use of their mobile phones, participants could vote, express their opinion and ask questions.

We were present during the entire conference and created a report, containing summaries of the industry pitches and keynotes presented during the conference. The summaries are complemented by quotes concerning the key themes of the conference and results from the interactive sessions. If you want to know more about future challenges and how to counter them, this report will provide you with some interesting insights.
